Last night I got to hang out with a missions team from King’s River Worship Center that’s in this week to work at Ambridge Christian Center, one of our church plants. Now this isn’t your normal missions team – it’s made up entirely of 4th & 5th graders. Yeah, pretty cool! So last night I showed them around the big city of Pittsburgh and wow did we have a blast! I can’t tell you how fun it was to just stand back and watch these kids enjoy life!! Near the end of the night we went to Coldstone and had some ice cream – I quickly learned kids and sugar are a hilarious combination! Then we finished things up at the dancing fountains in Station Square. The kids spent 20-30 minutes dancing, running and getting drenched – I was amazed at how much energy they had (the ice cream might have had something to do with that!).
When we’re all ‘grown up’ we can get so wrapped up in our jobs, responsibilities and life pressures – what ever happened to that child-like spirit? I want to challenge you today: Don’t take yourself so seriously – enjoy your day. Enjoy your life! We have one life to live, why not live it with a child-like passion?
