Spiritual Transfusion

Jeremiah 17:9 explains that “the heart is deceitful…” There is no right within us. Later in Romans 7:18, the Apostle Paul declares, I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” If there is no good within us, than what hope is there? What chance do we have to live a life of goodness? It takes a spiritual transfusion.

Apart from God we can do no good. We must allow the Spirit of God to infuse us with His grace, love, and goodness. As we experience this spiritual transfusion we now have the life of Christ flowing through us. How do we experience this transfusion? By opening our lives to Christ through prayer, scripture and meditation. As we go into the weekend, do you need a transfusion? I know I do.

  1. Ever get a song stuck in your head? You know the type. the kind He puts there. In the case of a spiritual transfusion is the song, “I Need Thee Every Hour.” To tell the truth, I don’t know where I’d be without Him.

Second song came up. Amy Grant sang it. And a verse came up: The only good inside my heart is the good that Jesus brings.
