Forty years ago today the life of a great man was taken from this earth. On this date, April 4, 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, TN. He led a Civil Rights movement that was making history and spoke hope to an increasingly divided nation. He gave various moving speaches and participated in many boycotts and campaigns, but the one thing I really admire about this man was his ability to see life where there didn’t seemed to be death. He was an eternal optimist. Although he refused to discount the battles occuring around him, he challenged others to dream and take action. With that said, here’s Dr. King’s most famous speech and definitely my favorite!
