This past week I came across a website that has revolutionized my office time. Personally, I prefer to have music on while I work which gives me a couple options: 1. Listen to the same CD’s over and over again – which can get old real fast. 2. Listen to the radio (online or on my radio) – this can be good, but they too often play the same songs over and over again.
Well, as I mentioned above I’ve discovered a really cool third option. It’s called Pandora Radio and here’s how it works is:
- You enter the name of a particular band/artist you enjoy.
- They then play streaming music in that same genre for as long as you keep the site open.
You do have to register, but it’s free. I’ve been using it for the last week and love it! Check it out and let me know what you think!!
Pandora is cutting edge, because it not only gives you music in the same genre, they give you music that has the same ‘genetic’ make up as the Artists you enter. They are trying to qualify music its ‘essence’, or qualities of it’s melody, harmony, rhythm, vocalization…
They ‘group’ music by what it sounds like, which means you should get a much better match for what you ‘like’ rather than just sorting by Genre.
I’m going to put this on our Recommended Software page Nick, thanks!
