History is one of my favorite things to study. In my lifetime I have experienced some momentus occassions in history…the beginning of the Gulf War, the shooting at Columbine High School, the 9/11 Attacks, the Steelers winning ‘One for the Thumb”, and now today, the inauguration of the first black President of the United States, Barack Obama. I’m hoping to catch part of the inauguration, but I’d be interested to hear what is the one historical moment that stands above the rest in your lifetime?
A Moment in History

1968 – The entire year was pivotal historically and in my life. Even now, when I think of that year, I can feel the anxiety that only a 10 year can feel. Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were assasinated. In Chicago the Democratic National Convention was marred by horrific riots. During the Summer Olympics, as two Afro-American athletes stood to receive their medals, they raised fists during the playing of the National Anthem in protest to the policies of the US. Google 1968. You will see the unrest and tumult that plagued that year. It definitely has affected my life.

Nick Poole’s wedding day. I can see it through faith with my spiritual eyes…and I’m crying.

The Berlin wall coming down. I remember watching it on my parents 13 inch black & white tv. I didn’t realize it then, but when I think back it was powerful.
